Kuber Idol (Brass)

Kubera is the king of the Yakshas who rules from the city if Alkapuri at the foot of Mount Kailasa. He is the son of Rishi Vishravas. He is the half brother of Ravana. He was once the owner of the southern Golden city of Lanka and of the famous Pushpak Vimana, but these were wrested from him by Ravana. Kubera is offered worship as the God of Money. Kubera is associated with the pride that brings from being wealthy.

Devi Lakshmi is the Goddess of Material prosperity and Wealth. This includes not only money but also cattle, harvest, land, gold, children, mansions and riches. She is associated with all things that make us feel fortunate materially. Maa Lakshmi represents the nature of fortune.

कुबेर की उपासना से माया यानी धन की प्राप्ति होती है। धनत्रयोदशी तथा दीपावली के दिन इनका खासतौर से पूजन किया जाता है। इसके अलावा फाल्गुन त्रयोदशी से साल भर हर माह शुक्ल त्रयोदशी को कुबेर व्रत करने का विधान है। कुबेर तीर्थ कुबेर ने जिन स्थानों पर तपस्या की थी, वे स्थान कुबेर तीर्थ के नाम से जाने जाते हैं। नर्मदा और कावेरी नदी के तट पर कुबेर ने तप किया था। हरियाणा के कुरुक्षेत्र में स्थित भद्रकाली मंदिर के निकट सरस्वती नदी के तट पर कुबेर तीर्थ हैं।
